In collaboration with the Mountrath Town Team, Laois County Council's Regeneration Section is inviting all residents, businesses, and community members to a special Information Evening on upcoming enhancements to the Whitehorse River Walk and Patrick Street.
Venue: Liath Liachra Suite, Bloom HQ, Mountrath, R32 DT9F 🕠 Date & Time: Thursday, 12th June 2025, 5:30pm – 7:00pm Funded through the Department of Rural and Community Development’s Town and Village Scheme, these improvements aim to celebrate and enhance the town’s natural and built environment. The plans include public realm landscaping, better accessibility, and sustainable design that supports biodiversity and community wellbeing.

Whether you enjoy the peaceful River Walk, are a local resident, run a business on Patrick Street, or simply care about Mountrath’s green spaces, your voice matters.
At the session, you’ll be able to:
• View draft designs and landscaping plans
• Engage with landscape architects and regeneration staff
• Learn more about biodiversity initiatives
• Share feedback and ask questions during a community Q&A
This is your chance to help regenerate a greener Mountrath. No booking is required—just drop in!
You can also find out more about the Mountrath Street Enhancement Scheme 2025 for the town centre! 75% of the costs up to €1,000 in grant funding is available. The scheme closes on 4th July, and works must have prior approval and be completed by 26th September. Experts from Laois County Council's Business Support Unit will be on hand to answer your questions.
