Ann (Nan) Keenan (née Cuddy), Corrigeen, Castletown passed away peacefully on Friday 21 March at her home in her 97th year surrounded by her loving family. Ann was predeceased by her husband Tom, brother Sean and sister Eilish.

James Griffin, Davitt Road, Mountmellick, formerly of Ballynane, Annascaul, Co. Kerry died peacefully, in the loving care of his heartbroken family. Predeceased by his sisters Agnes and Kay.

TWO woodland growers in Laois have been shortlisted in the RDS Forestry Awards. The awards recognise and reward farmers and woodland owners that have adopted climate-smart agricultural practices on their properties.

A BANNED driver trying to evade detection on back roads was arrested by Laois gardaí, who were on patrol in an unmarked squad car. The driver’s car was seized near Rosenallis village, after the culprit gave false details and proved to be disqualified.

Elizabeth (Lill) Boyhan, Currawn, Aghaboe, Ballacolla, LaoisLill passed away peacefully in her 95th year on 19 March, surrounded by her loving family and in the care of the staff at St. Luke’s Hospital Kilkenny.

Brian Lynch, 32 Chapel Street, Mountmellick died on 19 March in his 95th year.
