Ballyroan Abbeyleix and District AC success at Rás na hEireann XC

BALLYROAN Abbeyleix and District cross country runners made a very successful trip to Dunleer in Co. Louth where the Men's and Women's teams scored notable success in the Rás na hEireann open cross country events.
In the Men's 6km, on a very demanding course, Cian McDonald produced his best performance of the season as he took the Men's senior title with an impressive display. Cian was closely followed by the youthful Jack McMahon in second.
With first and second, it setup their club for a great win in the competition. Eoghan Whelan, Ronan O'Reilly and John Troy completing their team scorers.
The Ladies 4km was equally testing for the girls, with Kate McDonald battling hard to fill third place and lead her team into 3rd position. Breda McDonald, Rebecca Condell and Liz McWey completing their scoring four.
