A cyclist in his 40s has been seriously injured following a road traffic collision on the Oakpark Road in Tralee, Co Kerry, on Wednesday.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which involved a car and a bicycle, and occurred shortly before 7:05am.

The cyclist was conveyed to University Hospital Kerry for treatment of serious injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Oakpark Road between 6:45am and 7:15am on Wednesday are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
