Dublin Airport prepares for busy Easter weekend with close to 450k passengers

Dublin Airport is gearing up for a busy Easter weekend, with almost 450,000 passengers expected to travel through the airport between Good Friday and Easter Monday.
This includes 220,000 departing passengers and 230,000 arriving at Dublin Airport over the four days.
Passenger numbers are expected to build steadily as the weekend approaches, driven by strong demand from holidaymakers heading abroad and visitors arriving in Ireland for the Easter break.
Sunday is expected to be the busiest day for departures, with almost 57,000 passengers set to fly out, while Good Friday will be the busiest day for arrivals, with close to 59,000 passengers expected.
Gary McLean, managing director of Dublin Airport, said:
“We’re looking forward to welcoming large numbers of passengers over the Easter weekend and helping them get to where they need to be, whether that’s heading away on a break or returning home to spend time with family and friends.
"Easter falls early this year, which can shift travel patterns, but we’re still expecting a very busy few days.
"Our teams across both terminals are focused on delivering a smooth and positive experience, and we’d encourage all passengers to arrive in good time so they can move comfortably through the airport and enjoy the start of their journey.”
Passengers travelling this weekend are advised to arrive at least two hours before shortâhaul flights and three hours before longâhaul flights to allow sufficient time for security screening and to reach their departure gate.
