Martin Brophy, of Fairymount, Crettyard, Co Laois and formerly of Ballyquirke, Gowran, Co Kilkenny, passed away peacefully on 6 January after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family and under the wonderful care of the nurses and staff at University Hospital, Waterford.

Beloved husband of the late Margaret, much loved father of Teresa, Carmel, Patrick and Martina, adored grandfather of Saoirse, Aoibhinn, Caoimhe, Síofra and Ellen and cherished brother of John, Mary and the late Timothy.

He will be sadly missed by his loving son, daughters, grandchildren, sons-in-law Paul and Colin, Martina’s partner Ross, daughter-in-law Daiva, brother, sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May Martin’s Gentle Soul Rest In Peace Reposing in Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq., Carlow (Eircode R93 C863) from 3pm on Sunday, concluding with prayers at 7pm that evening.

Funeral Mass on Monday, 13 January in St. Abban’s Church, Doonane, Crettyard, Co. Laois (Eircode R93 AT86) at 11am.

Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
