Kildare road closed following security alert

The army bomb disposal team are currently at a landfill site in Co Kildare due to a security alert.

The Kilcullen to Naas Road has been closed for several hours at Sillot Hill Landfill.

Motorists and other road users are being advised to use alternate routes.

A spokesperson for the Department of Defence said that they do not comment on “ongoing operations due to operational security reasons”.
