Belfast rap trio Kneecap have collaborated with Micil Distillery in Galway to release their own poitín.

There are only 1,200 units of the poitín being sold, with a price of €32 per naggin.

In a post on Instagram, Kneecap said: "We sent Próvaí off to the guys @MicilDistillery in Connemara to make some Poitín. Some job he did and all.

"We’ve taken their Connemara poitín and rested it in empty oak casks seasoned with Kneecap’s favourite tonic wine made by monks.

"This limited edition naggin celebrates the Irish language, cross-cultural creativity, and a shared love of acting the boll*x."

Micil Distillery said its collaboration with the group is one "you didn't know you wanted, with the product you didn't know you needed".

The poitín is "as bold and unapologetic as the spirit of the people behind it", the distillery said, adding that the product is "bottled small but deadly".

The 1,200 naggins of poitín will go on sale on Friday, December 12th, at 1pm on micildistillery.com.
