Laois death notice: Bernadette (Detta) Bergin (née Connell), Portlaoise

Bernadette (Detta) Bergin (née Connell), Marian Ave, Portlaoise passed peacefully on 26 May in her 91st year, after an illness bravely borne, surrounded by her loving family and in the tender care of Oakdale Nursing Home. Beloved wife of the late Billy Bergin.

Dearly loved mother to John and Laura. Cherished grandmother to Lara, Wesley, Séan, Hannah and Caroline and great-grandmother to Katelyn.

Deeply regretted by her loving family, daughter in law Siobhán, nieces, nephew, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home on Tuesday 27 May from 6.30pm until 8pm, with rosary at 7.30 pm. Requiem mass at 11am on Wednesday in Church of the Holy Cross, Ratheniska. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only. Donations if desired to the Oakdale Residents Fund.
