Laois death notice: Carmel Brophy (née Whelan), Crettyard

Carmel Brophy (née Whelan), Fairymount, Crettyard, Laois passed away peacefully on 10 January at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her son Shane, grandson Ryan, her parents Aloysius and Margaret, her sister Angela and her nephews Liam and Peter Kearns.

Carmel will be sadly missed by her loving husband Liam, sons and daughters Linda, Ronan, Sarah, Becky, Liam, George and Adrian, her 20 grandchildren, her two great-grandchildren, sons- and daughters-in-law, brothers and sisters Tom, Eileen, Theresa, Josie, Frank, Gerry and Bernie, brothers- and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours, friends and her former colleagues in Laois County Council.

Carmel will repose at her home (R93 YX63) on Sunday 11 January from 4pm, until the conclusion of the rosary at 8pm.

Removal on Monday to arrive at St Abban’s Church, Doonane for Requiem Mass at 2pm, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

House strictly private on Monday morning, please.
