Fifth year and Leaving Cert Applied art students from Portlaoise College on their visit to Paris.
AS part of their studies in European art history fifth year and Leaving Cert Applied art students from Portlaoise College visited Paris recently.
They were accompanied by their teachers Mr. Hennessy, Ms. O’Grady, and Mr. Petkovic.

The trip brought their classroom lessons to life, allowing them to see firsthand what they had previously only encountered on screens or in books.
They explored world-renowned museums such as the Louvre and the Musée d’Orsay and immersed themselves in the masterpieces of iconic artists like Da Vinci, Picasso, Van Gogh, and Monet.

The students also took in the atmosphere of Montmartre, enjoyed scenic river cruises along the Seine, and the breathtaking views from the top of the Arc de Triomphe, including the Eiffel Tower and Sacré-Cœur.

College Principal Noel Daly said: “The trip was a fantastic opportunity for the students to connect with European art and culture in a truly meaningful way. It has enabled their creativity to flourish in such an inspiring setting, which is incredible.”
