A young man has been sent forward for trial over the seizure of multiple guns, a crossbow and hundreds of rounds of ammunition in Dublin.

Richard Adeleke (18) faces charges under the Firearms Act.

They included 700 rounds of assorted ammunition.

According to the charges, he allegedly had a Beretta semi-automatic pistol, a .22 calibre Hatson air gun, a crossbow, and a .22 calibre Erma Werke EG712 lever action rifle.

He is accused of cocaine and cannabis, and having cannabis for the purpose of sale or supply on the same date.

The arms and drugs were allegedly recovered on November 5th, close to his address at Thornwood, Beaumont, Dublin 9.

The Director of Public Prosecutions issued a direction for trial on indictment, and a garda served him with a book of evidence at Dublin District Court.

Judge Michele Finan acceded to a request to grant a return for trial order, sending him forward to the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, where the case will be listed for mention on June 11th.

Adeleke was given the standard warning to notify prosecutors if he intends to use an alibi in his defence, and the judge ordered gardai to hand over copies of interview videos to him. He was remanded on bail.

He had originally been charged with dangerous driving at North Strand Road, Dublin 1, which will be heard in the District Court.

The additional counts were brought later in February, when the case was adjourned again to allow the book of evidence to be completed.
