Man and woman arrested after €100,000 of cocaine seized

A man and a woman have been arrested after €100,000 of cocaine was seized following an operation targeting an organised crime group based in Sligo.
Gardaí from the Sligo/Leitrim Crime Functional Area stopped and searched a vehicle in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim, and one in Keadue, Co Roscommon.
Suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €100,000 was seized, and two people were arrested.
The man in his 40s and the woman in her 50s are being detained at a station in the Garda North Western Region under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
The drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
