Apartments planned for Convent Chapel in Stradbally

PLANNING permission is to be sought to construct apartments on the old Presentation Convent Chapel site in Stradbally.

Vesta Construction Ltd intends applying to Laois County Council for permission for the development at the Presentation Convent Chapel along Main Street, Stradbally.

Should permission be granted the company intends to carry out the works to the protected structure and to demolish a two-storey structure and single storey structures to the rear and to renovate and upgrade works to the existing convent building to include for subdivision to provide for 18 residential units.

This will include four one-bedroom apartments, one two-bedroom apartment on the existing ground floor. Three one bed apartments, two one-bed apartments on the existing first floor and two two-bedroom apartments in the Church.

The company will also seek approval for three one -bed apartments on the second floor, two one-bedroom apartments on the ground floor of the new build and one bed apartment on the first floor of the new build.
