Coffee morning in memory of beloved Portlaoise woman

A COFFEE morning in memory of a much-loved Portlaoise woman, who made a remarkable contribution to her community, will be held this month in aid of Laois Hospice.
The event at Portlaoise Family Resource Centre (PFRC) in Knockmay on Friday, 25 September, will celebrate what would have been Annette Lawlor’s 70th birthday.
Sadly, Annette passed away on 6 August at her home in Oakleaf Place, just weeks before a family celebration in her honour. Her family has kindly organised a coffee morning in her memory to raise funds for Laois Hospice, which cared for her so well during her illness.
The event will run from 8.30am until 12.30pm in the PFRC community room, based in the Treo Nua premises and will include tea, coffee, cakes, treats and a raffle.
Describing Annette as ‘our dear friend and community member’, PFRC is encouraging people to support the event in aid of a cause that was very close to her heart.
All proceeds will go to Laois Hospice, which is run by a voluntary committee and provides palliative and end-of-life care and supports for patients and their families across the county.
Annette was predeceased by her son Ian and was beloved mother of Paul, Wayne, Gemma and Owen. She is sadly missed by her family, including her cherished grandchildren Sara and Sameer, her brother Tom and sisters Mary, Paula, Tina and Aggie, neighbours and many friends.
