Laois man charged with two counts of sexual assault

A 48-YEAR-OLD Laois man was sent forward to the 29 October sitting of Portlaoise Circuit Court on two counts of sexual assault.
The man appeared at last week’s sitting of Portlaoise District Court, when a book of evidence was served on him, and he was sent forward on the charges.
The offences are alleged to have taken place on a woman at a County Laois address on 11 August 2021.
The man’s solicitor, Philip Meager, asked for reporting restrictions to be imposed in the case as the defendant and the alleged complainant are known to each other.
Judge Nicola Andrews granted the solicitor's request.
