Portlaoise Court: Charged with money laundering at Laois hotel

A BOOK of evidence is being prepared to serve on a man who is accused of money laundering.
At last week’s vacation sitting of Portlaoise District Court, Judge Patricia Cronin was told that the State is preparing a book of evidence to be served on Algimantas Mikstriunas of no fixed abode.
The 35-year-old defendant is charged with one count of laundering €22,500 at the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise on 12 May.
Judge Cronin was informed that Mr Mikstriunas had consented to be remanded in custody until the next hearing of the case on 8 September, for the service of the book of evidence.
