Window fitter swindled Laois woman out of €2,040

A MAN who took a €1,500 deposit and an advance payment of €540 to install windows and doors in a house in Errill and who failed to carry out the work or return the funds appeared before last week's sitting of Portlaoise District Court on two counts of deception.
Patrick Kenneally with an address at 7 Leonard’s Court, Dunnamaggan, Co Kilkenny pleaded guilty to the offences, which occurred on 8 November 2021 and on 23 September 2022.
Solicitor Barry Fitzgerald said that his 33-year-old client lost his job over the issue and his drug problem. The case was adjourned to 27 January to determine whether Mr Kenneally is suitable for community service.
