Entries now being accepted for best housing estate in Laois competition

THE Best Estates Competition which is organised by the Estate Management Team at Laois County Council is currently underway around the county.

The Laois Best Estates Competition is an annual event organised by Laois County Council that recognises and rewards outstanding social housing estates in the county. 

The competition encourages community pride, participation and improvements in the overall appearance and upkeep of these estates.

Entry to the competition is open to housing estates where most of the properties in the estate are in the ownership of Laois County Council. 

Estates that fall under this category are automatically entered into the competition.

Tenants who wish to enter the competition for Best Individual Front Garden can do so by completing an application form and address it to the ‘Best Front Garden Competition 2025, Estate Management, Laois County Council, Áras an Chontae, James Fintan Lalor Avenue, Portlaoise, Co. Laois R32 EHP9 or by email estatemanagement@laoiscoco.ie 

Application forms for Best Individual Front Garden are available for printing on Laois.ie or are available from Laois County Council offices in Portlaoise.

All entries must be in no later than 4pm on Thursday 14 August. 

Inspections of the estates will take place between Monday and Friday 18 to 29 of August.

There are cash prizes for winning entries with the top prize of €1,500 for one estate.
