GARDAÍ have issued travel and safety advice, as 14 towns and villages across Laois get set for St Patrick’s Day parades tomorrow.

Communities are preparing for a fantastic celebration, with parades and festivals throughout the day (See all times below).

Laois gardaí said on social media: ‘If you are travelling on Tuesday, please plan your journey in advance, as temporary road closures and traffic delays will occur around parade routes.’

They advised:

*Expect road closures and diversions in town centres.

*Allow extra time for your journey if travelling through parade areas.

*Please follow the directions of gardaí, stewards and event organisers.

*If attending with children, agree a meeting point in case anyone becomes separated.
