Gardaí seize car on Laois back road
The driver was arrested on a back road near Rosenallis
A BANNED driver trying to evade detection on back roads was arrested by Laois gardaí, who were on patrol in an unmarked squad car.
The driver’s car was seized near Rosenallis village, after the culprit gave false details and proved to be disqualified.
Posting a photo from the scene (above) on social media on 19 March, gardaí said: ‘Laois Roads Policing Unit on patrol on the back roads near Rosenallis arrested another disqualified driver behind the wheel, trying to avoid detection.
‘The driver, who also gave false details to gardaí when stopped, was charged and bailed to an upcoming sitting at Portlaoise District Court.’ The Nissan Micra was impounded and was towed away by a recovery vehicle.
