Gardaí seize Polo in Portlaoise
The car was seized in Portlaoise this morning
A VOLKSWAGON Polo driven by a banned driver was seized by gardaí in Portlaoise this morning.
The culprit was arrested and the Polo was towed away, when it emerged that the motorist had a hole in his driving record.
Members of the Laois Roads Policing Unit were on patrol in the town when they spotted the car and pulled it in.
They immediately arrested the driver, when a check confirmed that he was driving while disqualified.
Posting a photo from the scene (above) on social media today, gardaí confirmed that court proceedings have commenced against the driver involved.
The motorist is facing an upcoming appearance at Portlaoise District Court.
