Greenfields Festival relocates to Laois in May

z

THE countdown is on for the return of one of Laois’s biggest festivals.

The Greenfields Festival will take place 2-3 May at Ballykilcavan Estate, Stradbally, Co Laois and will feature synth-pop legends The Human League and Dec Pierce’s Block Rockin’ Beats as headliners.

Other acts include Le Boom, The Riptide Movement, The Fureys, Cry Before Dawn, The Original Rudeboys, Aslan, Michael English, David Geraghty (of BellX1 fame), Róisín O, Vengaboys, and many more.

In total, more than 90 acts will perform across five stages throughout the May bank holiday weekend. The food village will offer flavours from around the world, with covered seating areas, while the carnival and funfair rides will no doubt please all thrill seekers.

Portlaoise coach business Martley's will offer shuttle services to and from the festival, with stops at Durrow, Abbeyleix and Portlaoise.

Martley's will also provide shuttles to the festival from Dublin, Naas, Newbridge, Kildare, Kilkenny and Carlow. The Portlaoise ‘pay-as-you-go’ service will also operate at all usual stops with no pre-booking required.

The festival accommodates onsite camping, with multiple options available for interested patrons, including general camping, family camping, and caravan and campervan parking.

The site also offers luxury glamping provided by Pitched Perfect, suppliers of boutique tents for festivals, events and weddings. The campsite opens Friday 1 May at 12pm and closes Monday 4th May at 2pm.

The festival moved to its new home in Laois in 2026 after four years at The Abbeylands site in Athy, Co Kildare. Craft beers will be available, brewed just 150m from the site, with other beer brands also available.
