Laois County Council is holding the first in a series of free public advice sessions for property owners interested in renovating vacant and derelict buildings across the county

LAOIS County Council is holding the first in a series of free public advice sessions for property owners interested in renovating vacant and derelict buildings across the county.

The first in the series is taking place on Wednesday 25 June in Portlaoise Library, Main Street from 10am to 4pm.

The advise sessions are organised by the Regeneration Section of Laois County Council along with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI).

The drop-in sessions will provide guidance on property renovation funding as part of the Government’s Town Centre First policy, which aims to revitalise town centres and breathe new life into underused buildings.

Those attending will have the opportunity to hear about available grants/funding and eligibility criterion for the renovation of vacant and derelict properties. They can also speak with the council’s vacancy and dereliction staff and SEAI representatives about their projects. Understand the eligibility criteria and application process for SEAI-supported schemes and receive expert advice on energy upgrades on your property and how to make homes more sustainable.
