Man due in Portlaoise court after investigation into organised crime

A MAN charged in connection with garda investigations into organised crime is due to appear before Portlaoise District Court today.
The man in his 30s was arrested and charged this morning, as part of ongoing investigations into the activities of a Leinster-based organised crime group.
The charges follow an extensive investigation by the Laois/Offaly Divisional Crime and Drugs Units.
The ongoing investigation has been targeting the sale and distribution of drugs and related criminal activity across Laois, Offaly, Carlow and Kildare since February last year.
Gardaí said this morning that investigations are continuing.
