LAOIS LGFA captain Andrea Moran and Carlow LGFA captain Róisín Bailey lined out together today, when they joined the Lidl team to officially open a new €10m store in Graiguecullen.

The outlet on the county border will create 25 new permanent jobs and includes a spacious 1,499sq.m sales floor area, two Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) machines, an off licence, customer restrooms with baby changing facilities and an in-store bakery.

At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Lidl also announced a donation of €1,000 to St Fiacc's House in Graiguecullen and €1,000 to the Carlow GAA Referees’ Association, to support the important work both services provide to the community.

As a Zero Emission Building (ZEB), the store has the new top-tier A0 Building Energy Rating (BER), while the spacious car park includes a number of bike spaces and electric vehicle (EV) charging points.

Laois LGFA captain Andrea Moran said: "Lidl has been a massive supporter of the LGFA for a decade and that same community spirit is evident in their support for local groups like St Fiacc's House. It was wonderful to meet so many local residents this morning, as they walked through the doors for the first time."

Carlow LGFA Captain Róisín Bailey said the generous donation to Carlow GAA Referees’ Association was “a massive boost” for the local sports community and the new store would be “a huge asset” to everyone in the area for years to come.
