Over €270,000 for three Group Water Schemes in Laois

Funding to the tune of €271,296 was allocated to three group water schemes in Laois
FUNDING to the tune of €271,296 from the Government’s latest multi-annual Rural Water Programme was allocated to three group water schemes in Laois.
The Heath Group Water Scheme is to receive €97,527. Cullohill Group Water Scheme (€92,619) and Errill Group Water Scheme (€81,150).
The Minister of State and local TD Sean Fleming welcomed the allocations and said the funding will enable Group Water Schemes to continue to improve the quality, quantity and reliability of the water services in rural areas.
He said: “Fianna Fáil is committed to enhancing the wellbeing and quality of life of people living in Laois and rural Ireland. Having access to reliable and safe drinking water is critically important for local people in the countryside. The funding is an example of Fianna Fáil’s ongoing investment and commitment to the future development of rural Ireland.”
“I want to ensure that our rural communities have the benefit of high quality infrastructure and water services. I have no doubt that the investment announced will help improve these water services which will continue to support and encourage people to live and work locally in rural Ireland,” said Minister Fleming.
