Sadness at sudden death of Laois auctioneer

Philip Sheppard, RIP
THE unexpected death of renowned Laois auctioneer Philip Sheppard has caused deep sadness in Durrow and surrounding areas.
A director of Sheppard's Irish Auction House, Durrow, he passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday 4 March at his residence in Kilmenan Farm House, Ballyouskill, Attanagh/ Durrow.
A special notice on the firm’s website says: ‘It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the sudden passing of our colleague and director, Philip Sheppard. As a mark of respect, we are rescheduling the upcoming auction to Tuesday 18 March.
‘Philip’s unwavering commitment, deep dedication, and clear vision have been essential in shaping the success of our team and he will be deeply missed by all of us, as well as by our clients and partners.’
Mr Sheppard was predeceased by his parents Tommy and Kathleen. His death notice published today on rip.ie states: ‘Philip will be sadly missed and is deeply regretted by his sons Barry and Patrick, his daughter Gina and their mother Barbara, his granddaughter Olivia Jane, his partner Colleen, brothers Bernard, Ger, Francis, John and Eugene, his cousins Declan, Míchael and David, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, daughter-in-law Meg, son-in-law Philip, his extended family and a large circle of friends, both in Ireland and America.
