Shots fired at house in Portlaoise

SHOTS were fired at a house in Portlaoise after midnight in a disturbing incident at the weekend.
A garda investigation is underway following the shooting, which happened on the Old Knockmay Road at about 1.30am on Sunday.
A video circulating on social media shows three men speeding away in a car, after two of them fired shots at the property.
The short video shows a car pulled up outside the house with its engine running, while a man outside the vehicle is firing shots at the property.
A man in the rear of the car is recorded firing more shots at the house through an open window, before the car and all three occupants flee the scene.
It is understood that bullets struck the house and a car during the alarming incident but there are no reports of injuries. The make of car cannot be identified from the video.
Gardaí confirmed that they are investigating a shooting incident in Portlaoise in the early hours of 7 June.
In a statement, they said they are investigating 'following reports of an alleged discharge of a firearm at a location in Portlaoise, Co Laois in the early hours of Sunday'.
