A vigil will be held in Graiguecullen this Friday for the family who were seriously injured in a crash on the M9 motorway, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Alma and Niamh Kinsella, who are in their 30s, remain in serious condition at Tallaght University Hospital.
Their younger sister Ella Hendricken (20s) is being treated for serious injuries in St Vincent’s University Hospital, while her seven-year-old nephew Yemi is being treated for serious leg injuries at Crumlin Children’s Hospital.
The injured family, who are originally from Bennekerry near Carlow town but now live in Graiguecullen, on the Laois/Carlow border, were making their way to Dublin Airport to travel to the UK for a family wedding when the head-on crash occurred.
Their car was hit by a car driving on the wrong side of the motorway, whose five teenage occupants were killed.
The vigil will begin at 6.30pm at St Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen and will be livestreamed on the church link for those who can’t attend.
A post on the Graiguecullen/Killeshin Parish Facebook page said, 'Join us for a Prayer Vigil as we come together in faith and hope to pray for the full recovery of Ella, Niamh, Alma and Yemi.’
