Offaly football managers Mickey Harte and Declan Kelly step down
Offaly football managers Declan Kelly and Mickey Harte have stepped down from leading the county's seniors after two seasons in charge together.
The Offaly county board confirmed the pair have stepped away, saying that Harte took his cue from Kelly's decision to call time on their partnership.
A statement from county secretary Pádraig O'Meara read: "Once Declan had made his decision to step down, Mickey felt it was also the appropriate time for him to move on.
"The County Board would like to express its sincere thanks to Declan, Mickey, Head Coach Luke Bree, and the entire management and backroom team for their dedication, commitment and professionalism throughout their tenure with the Offaly Senior Football team.
"We wish Declan, Mickey, Luke and all of the management and backroom team every success and happiness in the future."
The pair took charge of Offaly together in autumn 2024, after Kelly successfully tempted the Tyrone great to come on board.
Kelly had previously managed Offaly to All-Ireland U20 success in 2021, before leading the seniors by himself for a season.
Harte had a wealth of management experience with Tyrone, Louth and Derry, winning three All-Irelands with his native county.
Under their watch, Offaly were crowned National League Division 3 champions in 2025, defeating Kildare in the final. Though they bowed out to Meath in the Leinster quarter-final.
This year, they lost to Laois in their Leinster opener, having been relegated pointless from Division 2 of the league.
In the Tailteann Cup, they reached the semi-final but went out to Wicklow.
