Cara Delevingne has confirmed she was “entangled” with Amber Heard after the Aquaman actress’s divorce from Johnny Depp.

The British model said Pirates Of The Caribbean actor Depp was “driven crazy by jealousy” when the two women became close while working on the film London Fields.

Delevingne and Heard were first romantically linked in 2016, the same year Heard filed for divorce from Depp.

The catwalk star has now confirmed the romance for the first time on The Louis Theroux Podcast.

During the interview, Theroux asked: “Are we going to mention the Johnny Depp thing?

“He was driven crazy by the idea that Amber might be sleeping with you.”

Delevingne replied: “Am I meant to comment?” before adding: “Yeah. It’s because we did a movie together, and it was called London Fields. He was also doing the movie.

“I think he was pretty driven crazy, by jealousy, I suppose. Nothing was happening at that point. Later, after they divorced, it had, I suppose.”

When Theroux asked: “You suppose?,” Delevingne confirmed: “No, I don’t suppose. I do know. Yeah. An entanglement? What is the word?”

Theroux suggested: “I think it means a relatively short-lived liaison or series of physical encounters.”

Delevingne confirmed: “We were close for a long time, and then when they were going through the divorce, yeah, we were entangled, I suppose.

“But she was also entangled with other people.”

Theroux clarified: “Well, with Elon,” a reference to Heard’s relationship with Elon Musk.

Delevingne replied: “There you go.”

Heard and Depp married in February 2015, but it was short lived and Heard filed for divorce and obtained a temporary restraining order in May 2016.

Their divorce was finalised in 2017.

In 2022, Depp sued Heard for defamation over a 2018 article she wrote in the Washington Post, which his lawyers said accused him of being an abuser.

Following a six-week trial in Fairfax County, Virginia, jurors returned a verdict in Depp’s favour.

Depp previously sued News Group Newspapers – the owner of The Sun – in the UK over an article that called him a “wife beater”.

A judge ruled the content of the article was proven to be “substantially true”.

During the interview with Theroux, Delevingne, who is now sober and has launched a music career, also addressed her substance abuse, saying she used ketamine and cocaine.

She said: “I wasn’t doing drugs all the time, but my relationship with them was the problem.

“They were my best friend, they were my support, they were the thing that I could control my emotions with, I thought.

“They kept me going, they soothed me when I was alone. I hated being alone. It was all of those things.

“My relationship with them was a problem.

“Instead of working for so long or doing a film for a period of time, and having a week off, the week wouldn’t be a holiday and rest, it would be benders, caning it, which isn’t nice for the body or mind.”

She continued: “I was opening a bunch of shows, opening shows walking out first, Top Shop was one of them, it was a bunch of different shows – Burberry in London Fashion Week, and I had not slept, and I had to go and do three shows that day.

“I remember opening Top Shop, and I was walking like a snake, almost like waving, but people thought it was on purpose, but it’s because I couldn’t walk properly.”

Delevingne also discussed the mental health issues she suffered as a teenager, saying: “I was suicidal and hurting myself, and there was just the loudest voice in my head telling me I needed to disappear.”
