Holly Willoughby’s style evolution as she returns with new lifestyle series ‘Together’

As Holly Willoughby returns to screens with a new lifestyle series, marking the latest chapter in a television career that has spanned more than two decades.
The daytime TV presenter will front Together, airing on YouTube, following a hiatus since leaving This Morning in 2023 after 14 years.
The show will feature segments on fashion, food and beauty.
Much has changed since Willoughby first became a familiar face on British television – including her wardrobe.
Before Instagram outfit credits that came with presenting This Morning, Willoughby’s red-carpet style was quintessentially Noughties featuring chunky belts, peter pan collars and pencil midi skirts.
Over the years, these gave way to strapless gowns, British designers and a more feminine approach to red-carpet dressing.
As she enters a new era, here’s how Willoughby’s style has evolved over the years.
2004
In her first role as a children’s television presenter, Willoughby joined CITV in 2004 to co-present the entertainment show Ministry of Mayhem.
At the Children’s Baftas in 2004, a 23-year-old Willoughby embraced one of the decade’s red-carpet staples: a little black dress.
But the styling was what brought it back to being playful, as she paired the dress with polka-dot heels and a red lip with teal eyeshadow.
2007
By 2007, Willoughby was co-presenting Dancing on Ice with Phillip Schofield alongside Holly & Fearne Go Dating, where herself and Fearne Cotton attempted to find dates for single people around the UK.
While attending the Vodafone Live Music Awards with newly – and now her signature – blonde hair styled into voluminous corkscrew curls, 26-year-old Willoughby wore a bright red silk blouse paired with a chunky cheetah belt and black pencil skirt.
The look featured all the iconic motifs of late Noughties style.
2008
By 2008, Willoughby was presenting The Xtra Factor and became a team captain on Celebrity Juice. In a year’s time she’d be co-presenting This Morning. At the Elle Style Awards that year, there were signs of the more glamorous fashion formula Willoughby would later adopt.
She wore an aubergine-coloured Dolce & Gabbana dress with black lace detailing, swapping the previous year’s corkscrew curls for sleek, straight blonde hair and a side parting.
2011
Pregnant with her second child, Willoughby attended the 2011 National Television Awards (NTAs) in a custom-made Suzanne Neville gown.
The sweetheart necklace, embellished belt and simple A-line silhouette showcased the signature femininity of Willoughby’s fashion, as well as signalling an early relationship with the British couturier, who she’d wear for her Dancing on Ice appearances in 2018, 2022 and 2025 and future NTAs.
2012
By 2012, Willoughby’s relationship with fashion extended far beyond wearing clothes on TV.
She launched her autumn/winter 2012 collection for Very.co.uk in London wearing a black bodycon dress with a contrasting peter pan collar and sheer polka-dot mesh yoke.
“I’m a big believer that feeling comfortable and confident in a garment shouldn’t mean glamour gets left behind. This collection is for women who want to feel fab without the hard work,” Willoughby told The Mirror in 2012.
The collaboration reflected the accessible approach to fashion that would become central to her public image – particularly during her This Morning years, when viewers routinely sought out the clothes she wore on screen via her Instagram page.
2016
Willoughby departed from her usual maxi dresses at the 2016 Glamour Women of the Year Awards where she won the TV Personality accolade, instead opting for a Safiyaa pastel blue and black caped jumpsuit, featuring an off-the-shoulder baby blue top and slim black pencil trousers with a dramatic flowing cape.
Pared with a slick low ponytail, this structured look was a departure from Willoughby’s classically soft and feminine silhouettes.
2016
Another memorable look from 2016 was the white halterneck mermaid dress by Suzanne Neville that Willoughby wore to the 2016 NTAs.
Willoughby and her This Morning co-host Schofield famously arrived to present the programme the following morning still wearing their clothes from the night before after celebrating their NTA win.
2017
For the 2017 ITV Gala, Willoughby opted for a sleeker look, harking back to the more sultry silhouettes from earlier in her career.
Featuring a hairstyle transformation with bouncy blonde locks, Willoughby wore a striking, floor-length black tuxedo gown featuring a deep plunging V-neckline and a high front slit, complemented by minimalist black strappy heels and jewellery by Boodles.
2020
While often opting for black and blue hues on the red carpet, for the 2020 NTAs, Willoughby embraced a more dramatic look in a Peter Langner gown.
The design featured a pink satin bodice contrasted with a voluminous blue tulle skirt, bringing a feminine and fairytale touch to the red carpet.
2024
Following her departure from This Morning in October 2023, Willoughby returned to the NTAs in 2024 wearing a shimmering strapless gown by Kolchagov Barba with Astrea London jewellery.
The corseted silver design was a return to the classic glamour that has become a hallmark of Willoughby’s style, and proof that nearly two decades after her first red carpets her fashion has grown up alongside her career.
