Michael Fassbender to star in 'The Crown' style show about Kennedy family

Michael Fassbender will star in a new Netflix series 'Kennedy', which will tell the story of the family often called 'America's royal family'.

Fassbender will play patriarch Joe Kennedy Sr, the father of former US president John F Kennedy.

The Netflix series will be in the style of 'The Crown', and the source material is Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Frederik Logevall’s 2020 book, JFK: Coming of Age in the American Century, 1917-1956.

It will tell the story of Kennedy Sr and his nine children, including JFK and his brother Bobby, both of whom were assassinated, JFK while president and Bobby while he was running for president.

The family is inextricably linked with some of the biggest moments in American history, and if the show achieves even half the success of The Crown, which chronicled the British royal family, it will be a big hit.
