Wins for Condell and McMahon at Laois Inter Road Race as BA&D create their own bit of history

BA&D Ladies who claimed first team at the Laois Intermediate Road Race
JUST one week on from the Laois Senior Road race in Ballyroan, the Laois Intermediate road race was held in a sunny Killeen on Sunday, along a scenic loop. Thanks to St Abban's AC for hosting and supplying the refreshments afterwards.
The Ladies 3km was up first and our ladies didn't disappoint. Rebecca Condell went two better than her bronze placed finish at the Novice to claim the victory today with an impressive kick for home moving from second to first in the last 300m.
Rebecca was accompanied on the podium by teammate Liz McWey who had a strong run to claim her first individual county bronze.
Patricia Troy, making her debut in the BA&D colours, and Mairead Sinnott rounded out the team of four which claimed victory on the day.
Jack McMahon led from the off in the Men's 6km and opened a sizeable gap which he held until the finish, to take the win and break his Intermediate status in style.
Jack was followed home by William Kerr who was outran in a battle with Kristian Redmond (Oughaval) for second in the final kilometre and had to settle for bronze.
The Men's team, consisting of Jack, William, Alex Caraffi and Ciaran Friel took home a set of bronze medals for their hard work.

Congratulations to all athletes, another successful weekend for BA&D on the roads.
Next up the Laois Masters hosted by St Michael's AC on the last weekend of this month.
