Man (20s) arrested in connection with fatal collision between van and motorcycle

Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with their investigation into a fatal two-vehicle road traffic collision involving a van and a motorcycle at James Street, Drogheda, on August 29th, 2025.
The man, aged in his 20s, is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a station in the Garda North Western Region.
The collision involving a van and a motorcycle occurred at James Street, Drogheda, shortly before 7:10am on Friday, August 29th.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, sustained critical injuries and was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he was pronounced deceased on Sunday, August 31st.
