Laois alleged assault adjourned to February

Portlaoise District Court
OPPOSING sides in an alleged assault case told Judge Susan Fay that they expected the case to take two hours to hear.
When Clement Herron from 111 Bridge Street, Portlaoise, came before the judge at last week’s sitting of Portlaoise District Court and was asked how he wished to plead on a charge of an assault at 45 The Glen, Kilnacourt Woods, Portarlington, his solicitor Josephine Fitzpatrick said that he was seeking a hearing date.
Ms Fitzpatrick said that Mr Herron would be giving evidence along with one witness, which garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said that state would be providing two witnesses.
Both agreed that the hearing would take up to two hours.
Judge Fay adjourned the case for hearing to 10 February.
