Laois man on assault charges must stay away from Portlaoise takeaway

A MAN alleged to have carried out assaults in Portlaoise on 8 November was ordered by a District Court Judge to stay away from the Baytoon Grill Takeaway on the town’s Main Street.
Adam McDonald (20) from 31 Bianconi Way, Portlaoise was before last week’s sitting of the local District Court on two counts of assault at Lyster Square, Portlaoise on 8 November.
Gardaí said they had no objection to bail being granted on conditions that the defendant provides them with a phone number, reside at 23 Borris Meadows, Portlaoise and available to take their calls 24 hours a day. Remains of sober habits, makes no contact with the alleged injured parties and stays away from the Baytoon Grill Takeaway.
Judge Susan Fay remanded Mr McDonald on continuing bail to 9 February for directions from the DPP on how the state wished to proceed with the case.
