Men charged with possession of explosives in Laois have case adjourned

THE case of two men with alleged links to a right-wing extremist group was once again adjourned when it came before last week’s sitting of Portlaoise District Court.
Garrett Pollock (35) fromâ¯Kilhorneâ¯Green,â¯Annalong, Co Downâ¯isâ¯chargedâ¯with one count ofâ¯possessingâ¯explosives atâ¯O’Mooreâ¯Place, Portlaoiseâ¯on 5 November and one count of possessing explosives at Kilhorne Green, Co Down on 6 November.
Karolisâ¯Peckauskasâ¯(38)â¯ofâ¯Newfoundwellâ¯Road, Drogheda, Co Louth isâ¯charged with knowingly having in “his possession an explosive substance” at O’Moore Place, Portlaoise on Tuesday 4 November.
Solicitor for Mr Pollock, Brian Duffy, and solicitor for Mr Peckauskas, Barry Fitzgerald, said that both their clients were consenting to being remanded in custody.
Judge Susan Fay remanded both men in custody to 23 February for the preparation of books of evidence.
