New solicitor Victoria receives warm welcome at Portlaoise District Court

A NEW solicitor was introduced to District 15, the District Court areas of Portlaoise and Tullamore at last week’s sitting of Portlaoise District Court s Solicitor Josephine Fitzpatrick took the opportunity to welcome newly appointed solicitor Victoria Kingston to the district area.

Ms Fitzpatrick said that Ms Kingston, who hails from Mountrath, had served her apprenticeship with Burns Nowlan Solicitors and Reidy Stafford Solicitors in Newbridge, Co Kildare before joining with Declan and Anne in Breen Manning Solicitors as a qualified solicitor.

Ms Fitzpatrick said: “Her boss (Mr Breen) introduced me to the courts so many years ago, that I can’t remember.” Court presenter Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said that he and the gardaí in the district were looking forward to working with Ms Kingston.

Also welcoming Ms Kingston to the district, Judge Susan Fay said: “It’s a rewarding and challenging career. It has taken a lot of work and dedication to get this far in your career.” Ms Kingston in reply said that she looked forward to working with her fellow solicitors, judges and the gardaí.
