Laois hotel was well represented at national tourism event

THE Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise was well represented at a recent Fáilte Ireland's EU Just Transition Tourism Learning Network Programme workshop and networking event.

Vanessa Langford, representing the Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise was among over 40 participating tourism businesses to attend the event, which was held in the Tullamore Court Hotel.

The event provided a unique opportunity for participants to benefit from a fully funded programme of tailored professional development supports that will enhance their tourism skillsets and support the transition from employment in peat or electricity production into a career in the tourism industry.

Now in its second year, the EU Just Transition Tourism Learning Network Programme is designed to build tourism business’ capabilities to help grow and future proof their sustainable development. Fáilte Ireland is committed to, and focused on, the sustainable development of tourism across Ireland which is an important economic driver and source of employment. This learning programme will help businesses in counties Laois, Westmeath, Offaly, Longford, Roscommon, Galway, Tipperary and Kildare develop essential skills and practices across business planning, digital, sustainability and accessibility while enhancing the visitor experience across the region.
