Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise celebrated ten years under the ownership of hospitality veterans, Colm and Anthony Neville on Tuesday 26 November.
Formerly known as the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel, the property first opened its doors in the summer of 2002 before being purchased in 2015 by the brothers, who also own the Riverside Park Hotel in Enniscorthy and Crown Quarter in Wexford.
Speaking at the celebration, Colm Neville said, “Reaching this ten-year milestone means a great deal to myself and Anthony. The heart of Midlands Park Hotel has always been its people, and seeing how our team has grown and evolved over the last decade is something we’re incredibly proud of.” For more information on Midlands Park Hotel, see www.midlandsparkhotel.com.
To mark the occasion, staff presented Colm Neville with a photograph taken ten years ago to the day of Colm and Anthony cutting a cake to launch the opening of the hotel, along with a new photograph of members of today’s team.
The celebrations reflected the strong sense of community within the hotel as Colm was also presented with a portrait of Kelly’s Steakhouse, painted by Duty Manager Aidan Moore, while pastry chef Audrey Cheasty created a stunning cake decorated to symbolise the 24 nationalities represented across the hotel’s workforce. Midlands Park Hotel now employs 224 staff, highlighting its growth and its role as a major employer in the area.
