A MAN was before the Family Law Court in Portlaoise for breaching a safety order.

Garda Sgt Kirby alleged that the man (19), who cannot be identified, was “involved in an argument at home over clothes and threatened to break his mother’s nose.” The man, who had no legal representative in court, made no comment to the charge of breaching a safety order at his family home on 9 September.

Before remanding him on continuing bail to the 15 October sitting of the court, Judge Andrew Cody advised him that it might beneficial if he spoke to a solicitor before that date.
