Courtwood 5-17
Clonaslee/St Manman’s 0-12
IT was a fast-paced start to this game as Niall Dunne drilled a shot wide in first 30 seconds. Shay Foynes then struck the crossbar down the other end but was fouled in the build so allowing Cathal Lee to point a free. Alan Kinsella pointed from the home side while Ryan Little did likewise.
Lee pointed a second free before Courtwood added four points to the board. Matthew Byron kicked a two-point free, and he kicked a 45’ a minute later. Dunne then played a free into Cian Doyle who turned and pointed. Lee added a further two frees to his tally.
Courtwood finished the half stronger pointing four scores in a row. Danny Luttrell and Kinsella pointed a free each before Byron travelled up to point another two-point free when Clonaslee/St Manman’s breached the three men up. Courtwood went in five points clear at the break, (0-11 to 0-4).

Having not fired all cylinders in the opening half, the home side stepped up the tempo for the second half. Little got in on goal inside four minutes, but his shot was saved by Darragh Mulhall. Byron pointed a second 45’ while Lee added another free.
Paddy Hyland added his name to the scoresheet pointed a two pointer off the outside of his boot. Kinsella and Cian Doyle raised white flags before disaster struck for Clonaslee/St Manman’s when Manus Dunne was shown a second yellow card in the 45th minute for a dangerous tackle on Niall Donoher.
Lee went on to kick two scores, one free and one two-pointer to take his tally to ten. Now a man up, Courtwood hit the ground running and added 4-3 to their scoreboard in just nine minutes. Jake Doyle found Dunne for the first goal. Donoher raised white flag before the second green flag came courtesy of Cian Doyle.
Little then put away 1-1 before Kinsella added a fourth point to his name. Keane was next to rattle the back of the net, and he did so in style finding the top left corner. Lee interrupted their scoring streak adding another two-pointer to his tally, but Courtwood struck again, this time it was Kinsella who fired past Mulhall before Des Cooney called it a day.

Courtwood are set to face Graiguecullen in the next round while Clonaslee/St Manman’s will travel to St Joseph’s on Saturday 25 April.
