Music, Community and Solidarity at The Preston House Sessions for Gaza

A unique day of live music, spoken word and community spirit will take place at Preston House, Abbeyleix, on Sunday, 21 June 2026, as local performers and supporters come together for The Preston House Sessions for Gaza.

Set in the historic surroundings of Preston House, the event will feature an afternoon and evening programme designed to celebrate creativity, connection and the power of community while raising funds for Palestinian relief work.

From 2pm, the garden and courtyard will come alive with performances from John Davidson and Friends, Beats Working, Brian and Figs, Ian Delaney, the Kelly Brothers and the Portarlington Brass Band. The afternoon will also include Power of Words, a spoken word and open mic session, with additional performers still to be announced.

The event continues into the evening with The Jam, an open music session running from 8pm to 11pm inside the house. Musicians of all genres and abilities are encouraged to take part, creating an informal and collaborative atmosphere that organisers hope will become one of the highlights of the day.

Organisers say the event is about more than music. It is an opportunity for people to come together, enjoy great performances, share ideas and show solidarity with those affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Donations will be welcomed on the day, with refreshments available throughout the event. Guests may also bring their own wine, with corkage applying. All proceeds will go towards Palestinian relief efforts.
