All are welcome Calling all singers, songwriters, poets and creatives — Portlaoise Spotlight Sessions is thrilled to present Open Mic Originals, a free monthly evening dedicated to original music and spoken word.
Whether you're new to the scene with just one piece to your name, or a seasoned performer with years of writing behind you, this is your stage. Open Mic Originals invites artists of all ages and styles to come and share their work in a welcoming, relaxed and supportive environment.
Try out your latest song or poem, meet fellow creatives, gather feedback, get tips, form bands, and be part of a growing community of original voices. Whether you're here to perform or just to soak up the atmosphere, all are welcome.
The Spotlight Sessions is a celebration of creativity and individuality. It is open to all artists, regardless of experience. Unlike traditional open mics, The Spotlight Sessions is strictly focused on original material. Covers are not permitted — this is a stage for authenticity, self-expression, and storytelling straight from the hearts of local creatives. All ages and styles are welcome, and a professional sound and lighting setup will ensure your work gets the treatment it deserves.
