The ARC Project (Addiction • Recovery • Community) will host its first Recovery Café of 2026 this Saturday at Dunamaise Arts Centre from 2pm to 4pm.
The free, drop-in event offers a relaxed and welcoming space for connection, conversation and community. Open to everyone, the Recovery Café invites people in recovery, those who are sober-curious, and anyone supporting a loved one affected by addiction to come together in a safe, stigma-free environment.
Based in Laois, The ARC Project is a peer-led, community initiative providing weekly support spaces for families, individuals, and those supporting others in recovery. The organisation continues to expand its reach through innovative supports, including the recent launch of its cutting-edge recovery app, designed to provide accessible, ongoing support beyond in-person meetings.
Demand for ARC’s services continues to grow, with people now travelling from across Laois and neighbouring counties including Offaly, Kilkenny and Kildare to attend weekly sessions — highlighting the need for accessible, community-based recovery supports in the region.
Attendees at Saturday’s Recovery Café will have the opportunity to learn more about these services, connect with the ARC team, and explore supports available locally.
Speaking ahead of the event, ARC Project founder Michelle Robertson said:
“The Recovery Café is about creating a space where people feel comfortable just walking in, having a cup of tea and being themselves. You don’t have to be at any particular stage — whether you’re in recovery, sober-curious, or supporting someone, you’re welcome. Connection is at the heart of recovery, and that’s what we’re building here in the community.” Founded on the belief that recovery is not just about stopping substance use but about rebuilding lives and reconnecting with community, ARC continues to grow as a grassroots movement in the Midlands, offering practical, peer-led supports that meet people where they are.
No booking is required — attendees are encouraged to simply drop in, have a chat, and take part at their own pace.
