The Spirit of Luke Kelly & The Dubliners at Abbeyleix Manor Hotel Friday 5th September

Kevin Morrin - The Spirit of Luke Kelly

The Lovely Laois Homecoming Festival is also a chance to see some incredible music shows, including the highly popular “Spirit of Luke Kelly “& The Dubliners, which celebrates the life and music of the legendary Irish Folk & Ballad singer, Luke Kelly.

This is one of the many musical highlights of The Lovely Laois Homecoming Festival, which celebrates one of Ireland’s finest folk and ballad singers.

The concert will take place on Friday, 5th September at the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel and features Kevin Morrin and Abbeyfolk, with Abbeyleix native Jim Ring at the helm. Abbeyfolk also features Jim’s son James and Mountmellick native Dave Jane on banjo.

Kevin Morrin, who lives in Ballylinan, has an uncanny resemblance to the voice of the late Luke Kelly and delivers performances of songs like Raglan Road, Dirty Old Town, The Town I loved so well and many more that Luke Kelly would have been proud of. Anne Distel from Germany plays fiddle and completes the line for this incredible show.

The Lovely Laois Homecoming Festival is also delighted to include some up-and-coming talent, so they have invited Abbeyleix native Ian Delaney to also perform before Kevin and Abbeyfolk hit the stage.

Doors open at 7 pm, and the show starts at 8 pm. Tickets, at a special price of only €15, are available now from The Abbeyleix Manor Hotel on 057 8730111 and through the website lovelylaoishomecoming.ie, where a full schedule of events is also available.
