Woman seriously injured after being struck by vehicle in Co Limerick

A major traffic artery into Limerick city from south east County Clare was closed by gardaí on Saturday following a serious road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
The woman was seriously injured in the collision, which occurred near St Munchin’s College, (R463) Corbally Road, on Saturday.
The woman was rushed by ambulance from the scene to University Hospital Limerick, where she was in a serious condition.
A Garda spokesman said: “Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the Corbally Road, Co. Limerick.”
“The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place.”
“As this is an ongoing situation, no further information is available at this time,” the spokesman added.
