TWO games played, two games won, and Laois now find themselves standing on the brink of qualification for the knockout stages of the championship.
If their opening victory showcased character, then today's hard-fought win over Meath underlined something even more important — this Laois team knows how to win when the pressure is at its highest.
Once again, they were forced to dig deep. Once again, they found themselves in a battle that could have swung either way. And once again, they reached into their seemingly endless reserves of resilience to come through, emerging with a precious two-point victory.
Championship campaigns are rarely defined by flashy scorelines or comfortable afternoons. More often, they are built on moments when teams refuse to panic, refuse to surrender momentum, and somehow find a way over the line. This is exactly what Laois have done in their opening two outings.
Their big players once again led from the front. Aimee Collier delivered another outstanding performance, contributing 1-6 and proving once more why she is one of the county's most influential players.
Great team needs leaders who can produce when the game hangs in the balance, and Collier continues to answer that call.

At the opposite end of the field, Clodagh Tynan was immense. Her reading of the game, determination and defensive leadership provided the platform Laois needed when Meath were threatening to wrestle control of the contest.
Yet while the individual performances were exceptional, what stood out most was something less tangible but perhaps even more valuable.
Composure.
There was no sense of panic when momentum shifted. No rash decisions when Meath applied pressure. Laois trusted their process, trusted each other, and stayed calm when the championship stakes were rising.
Coupled with that composure was the resilience that is rapidly becoming this team's trademark. Time and again they have shown an ability to absorb pressure, respond to setbacks and deliver in the crucial moments.
Those qualities cannot be measured on a scoreboard, but they often separate contenders from pretenders.
Laois are not simply collecting points at the moment; they are building belief. The confidence gained from grinding out victories can be just as powerful as any dominant display.
With two wins from two, the knockout stages are now firmly within sight. More importantly, Laois are showing all the hallmarks of a team that nobody will relish facing as this championship progresses.
If they continue to display the composure, character and resilience that have defined their campaign so far, this could be a summer that has plenty more chapters left to write.
